Family Members of a Mentally Ill Loved One

2347241167Are you one of us?

Do you have a Loved One with a serious mental illness?

I’m in this group because I have an adult daughter with a serious mental illness. She suffered for a long time, and so did I.

Can you relate? Have you suffered from not knowing what to do or how to help?

Perhaps, you have felt that your Loved One was working against you, didn’t trust you, or anyone, at least not very often.

It’s tough to be a member of this club.

Dealing with a mentally ill loved one can be overwhelming, heartbreaking, and lonely.

It can be challenging to know where to turn to get the help you need for your Loved One and find the support you need for yourself.

Try as they might, it is often difficult for others to understand the complex feelings you are dealing with.

Your feelings and needs often get brushed aside in your significant concerns for your Loved One.

It is easy to focus on your Loved One and think you don’t matter as much. I see it all the time.

I know what it feels like to deal with a mentally challenged family member.

It’s easy to blame yourself for not knowing what you should know, and sometimes, for not knowing what you wish you knew.

Blaming yourself is not the answer because you face challenges that are not your fault, but perhaps, they are still your responsibility.

Unfortunately, the challenges can weigh you down unless you have support for yourself.

There is support available tailored for you.

I can help you gain a broader perspective on your situation and identify the conscious and unconscious beliefs it activates.

We will examine your early programming and see how it may be triggered in such a painful and complex situation.

I can also give a bigger perspective on navigating the mental health system.

My daughter and I have shifted to a higher level of peace. Our communications are full of love now, and I am grateful for our daily life together!

There is no guarantee that your Loved One will shift. You are not in control of them, which makes this situation so difficult.

Nevertheless, you need support to help you release the burden you feel because this is not your fault.
