If you haven’t experienced online counseling, you may have many questions. Like many people, you may be pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and private it can be.
Clients often tell me they love not needing to allow extra time for driving or commuting before and after the sessions. In addition, you don’t need to leave the session and go back to an office waiting room or street after a deep session, which is something many report appreciating!
You are already home and can curl up with a cup of tea or coffee in your favorite chair with your favorite things around you both during and after the session.
Online self-care is a great option, especially if you are a parent. You can book a session in your home after your kids have gone to bed, so you don’t have to get a babysitter. If your child or children are awake, they can watch a favorite video or be entertained by a project while you have the session in another room.
Navigating online counseling is easy.
Our sessions can occur on Zoom or FaceTime, allowing us to be very present with each other! Our sessions are private and supported by a HIPAA-compliant platform.
Before the pandemic, I saw clients in person for 45 years, and I honestly feel just as present in these virtual sessions as I ever felt in my office or living room. (I’ve done both!) Sometimes, it feels like a miracle to me that we have this option!
There are no distractions, no need for social amenities, and we are just present with each other and ready to do our work!
