“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
– Mary Oliver
Personal growth is a journey.
You know there is something you want to change, but you often don’t know what it will entail. Opening to a new and unknown part of your inner world may involve excitement and, frequently, other uncomfortable feelings of discomfort.
Whatever the moment, it is understandable to feel a variety of feelings. Believe me, I’ve been there. On my journey, it has been chiefly exciting to open to new parts of myself, but there have been moments when it is surprising to discover a deeper self, which can be disconcerting.
In this situation, you have a guide – me! I will support you as you move and grow at the right pace for you. We will celebrate your gains together each step along the way while taking the time to notice and feel all the feelings that come up.
We will explore where you have been and how your past experiences have affected you. But most importantly, we will explore your goals and map out a journey with these in mind.
Are you ready for some exploration?
If you are, call (207) 439-6600 to schedule a free 30-minute consultation so we can get acquainted and answer any questions.
About Cynthia Grace Luma
Here is who I am.
I’m a longstanding New Englander and was born in Peabody, Massachusetts. I spent the first half of my life in Massachusetts before moving to southern Maine for 30 years. Until my last move, I have always lived within a few miles of the ocean. From early childhood, being near the ocean has been one of my passions for finding peace and joy. I am a true ocean lover!
A few months before the pandemic, I moved to Philadelphia and, like many others, started working online. I love it and have continued working virtually ever since.
I have four children and seven grandchildren. I consider it one of the greatest privileges of my life to watch them grow and develop into the incredible human beings they are.
So, that is one of the foundational pieces of who I am. I love to experience, witness, and support personal growth and healing and to help each client grow into the fullest version of themselves that they aspire to.
Being a therapist requires experience and training.
I have 50 years of experience in private practice, working with individuals, couples, and families.
I also worked part-time as a crisis counselor in three hospital emergency rooms for 17 years. So, I have a broad and deep understanding of the mental health field, healing, coaching, and relationships.
My training includes clinical hypnotherapy (National Board Certification), NLP Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP therapy), and EMDR. These tools help individuals and couples make the deep changes they seek. Throughout my years of training and experience, I have also gathered many other tools and processes for healing and growth. I can’t wait to share them with you.
About my logos:
Center For Inner Peace = A place of deep connection and represents going inward to the layers of who we are and getting to our very center – to a place of deep inner peace.
What is the symbolic meaning of the Lotus Flower?
In many cultures and belief systems, the symbolic meaning of the lotus flower is widely considered to be one of purity, enlightenment, and rebirth.
Why is this? Well, the meaning of the lotus flower begins in its roots – literally! The lotus blossom is a type of water lily, and the roots of the lotus blossom are grounded in the mucky, muddy bottoms of ponds and lakes. The lotus must grow upwards through mud and dirty water until it eventually reaches the surface and blooms into a bright, exceptionally beautiful flower. The ability of the lotus flower to weather the darkness and murk and still become something so clean and beautiful makes it incredibly special to so many.
This is the journey of personal growth. It involves exploring the dark, murky, or unfamiliar places and opening to a place of light, wisdom, and peace.
